Food Glorious Food

JAS has partnered with Winnipeg Harvest to help meet the needs of hungry youth. We are part of Harvest's meal and snack program. Every two weeks we pick up food to use in our snack program and  up and coming lunch hour cooking sessions. This partnership enables us to fuel some teenage brains and build a sense of community in our kitchen. Yum yum mini pizzas!

We Bake For Change

JAS Student Voice Committee organized an awesome Bake Sale in order to raise some cash for a really cool project.  The money raised will buy goats for developing African communities,  so that the community  can be sustainable.  JAS has a goal of raising enough money for two goats; a male and a female.  If you do the math, that potentially could make two goats turn into three, or four or more.  We will keep you posted on the goat possibilities.  Donations can also be made to JAS at the office.

Yoga Time.

Hey BooBoo, it's Yogi Bear. No actually it's Yogi JAS. These students are taking some time out to find zen on their lunch hour. They are also learning some relaxation strategies  to manage anxiety. They are smarter than the average bear.

Feb 14 Cupcake Goodness

Some Jameswood students are feeling the love on Valentines Day, or maybe a sugar rush after this cupcake decorating. This activity is one of the many extra curricular activities that happen at lunchtime.
